What you can expect
Vasco de Gama and Prince Henry the Navigator are only two of the dozens of names that rose to fame in this very area. It is from here that the Portuguese navigators set sail in the 15th century into the unknown, they conquered the seas and what they brought back with them was what made Potugal one of the greatest Empires in the world. Unfortunately, at the height of their Golden Age, the Lisbon Earthquake occurred and brought the majestic city of Lisbon to its knees. Here, in Belem, is the only place that we can still witness the grandeur of what was once the entirety of Lisbon. Here is where their legacy was born and still remains. Here, are the Pasteis de Belem!!
Lisboa, a charming city built on several breathtaking hilltops.
So charming in fact, that it swept me off my feet (I have the bruises to prove it), it was truly love at first sight!
Living and working in Toronto, Canada (where I was born but was not raised) and previously in London, UK I decided to change things up a bit and move somewhere much warmer and Lisbon was calling.
I have been living here for the past 3 years and have tried to make other, likeminded travellers, as in love with this beautiful city as I am.
I fashion myself a bit of a storyteller and so if you join me, all of our senses will feast on the stunning, historical beauty that is Lisbon.
